Colourful Christmas performance for the little ones

Einar is always alone. Even at Christmas. But Einar is never bored. He is always finding himself something to do to make his solitary life interesting. When he is shut up in the loft at home on

Christmas Eve, he must do his very best to keep the holidays festive. But Einar is an unlucky boy and is prone to getting tangled up in Christmas lights and getting into a fight with a joint of smoked lamb.

This production was nominated for a Gríman Icelandic Performing Arts Award. The main role is played by Bergur Þór Ingólfsson, who is also the author and director of the piece. Ingólfsson's children's and family shows are much acclaimed. These include Mary Poppins, Billy Elliot, Horn á höfði (Horns on the Head), Hamlet litli (Little Hamlet) and Blái hnötturinn (The Blue Planet). He has staged this show for two years for young audiences during Advent. This time, the multi-talented comic actor Björgvin Franz Gíslason takes on the role of Einar to ring in Christmas in a fun and heartfelt way for Reykjavik City Theatre's youngest audience members and their families.

Husband and wife Benedikt and Þórunn decide to take themselves off to their summer house in Eyjafjörður – each with their own secret under wraps.
