What do you have left after the biggest loss of your life?

Poison

The trauma which tore apart a marriage haunts them like a shadow. He left for France and started a new life. She remained in their home, trying to come to terms with her grief. Ten years after their split, they meet again in unexpected circumstances. The past gnaws away at them, and unresolved issues rise to the surface – and some feelings cannot be expressed with words. They tread a fine line between jealousy, grief, affection, bitterness and simmering passions. And now, reunited, they are faced with a momentous decision.

Hilmir Snær Guðnason and Nína Dögg Filippusdóttir take on bewitching roles in this award-winning play about grief and love, directed by Kristín Jóhannesdóttir. Poison is a Dutch play which has been hugely successful the world over in recent decades and has been translated into over twenty languages. Playwright Lot Vekemans writes with uncommon incisiveness about the shared destiny of two individuals in their final attempt to come to terms with the past.
