Reykjavik City Theatre
The Reykjavik City Theatre (RCT) ranks among Iceland´s oldest and most prestigious cultural institutions. Its history stretches back more than a century to the foundation of the Reykjavik Theatre Company in 1897. It is now, alongside the National Theatre of Iceland, one of the nation´s two pre-eminent playhouses. Reykjavik City Theatre, as the name suggests, is the municipal theatre of Iceland´s capital city.
